Pasture Raised Eggs

Subject-6-1

Mobile Pasture Raised Eggs

What makes these eggs different is our utilization of the entire pasture. Our coop is mobile, on wheels, and we move it daily (as weather allows) to fresh pasture with the tractor. Our hens prefer to stay near their area of safety and food source. Because of this, sometimes they don't venture far away from the coop. Rotating the coop around the pasture allows for the entire pasture to be used and the pasture to regrow while the hens are in a different area. The hens have all the sunshine they could want, bugs to hunt, and of course our special blend of non-GMO feed. All of these combine for our best, healthiest egg yet.

Pasture-Raised Transparency Statement

At Little Farm on the Prairie, we are committed to raising hens in a way that prioritizes animal welfare, quality, and transparency.

Our Pasture raised hens are kept in mobile coops and have regular access to pasture for the majority of the year. These mobile systems allow us to rotate birds onto fresh ground, supporting both hen health and land stewardship.

During certain times — such as winter months or when transitioning between flocks — hens may be temporarily housed indoors for their safety and well-being.

In addition to eggs from our own flocks, we partner with trusted pasture-based farms. While all of our partner farms share our commitment to high-quality care, their systems may vary. For example, some farms utilize fixed housing with outdoor access and may operate at different space allowances (such as up to 108 square feet per bird on pasture).

We believe in being open about our practices and are always happy to answer questions about how our eggs are produced.
